Bloom Connemara limestone

Bloom 2019 summer success with dementia-friendly garden

As suppliers to Bloom projects, we are delighted to hear about the success of  talented designers. This stunning garden was created by award-winning horticultural designer Robert Moore, a double gold medalist at Bloom last year. The concept of the 1950s themed garden was to raise awareness of dementia and Alzheimer’s. By using beautiful flowers and planting, the hope was that scents, colours and textures would evoke fond memories of childhood. One of the garden features was a seated area made from Connemara limestone, placed in its original format, to add authenticity to the project.

reclaimed stone supply to castlepook

Proud suppliers to landmark castle restoration projects

Trinity Stone are proud suppliers of reclaimed stone used to restore the 12th century Rathaldron Castle and the 14th century Castle Pook. Most noteworthy of our reclaimed stone is its infinite capacity to blend in with buildings almost 800 years old. This is certainly evident at the beautifully restored Rathaldron Castle, located near Navan, Co Meath. This castle is tantamount to the scope of use of our reclaimed stone products and how well they can be used to seamlessly repair and restore ancient buildings. Similarly, we supplied stone to the magnificent Castle Pook, Co. Cork, a Norman style castle situated at the foothills of the Ballyhoura Mountains. The castle was originally built in 1380, and today in the 21st century, sections of the building are being beautifully restored using our reclaimed limestone, using ancient stonemasonry techniques. For more information about our reclaimed stone products, please contact Michael on 0868097690.

granite stone gables

granite stone beauties in stock now

These rare granite stone gables are the two ends of the original waiting room on the northbound platform of the old Harcourt Street railway line. The Station was built by Architect William Dargan in 1854. The line closed in 1958 and the site of the station line lay dormant until it was demolished in the 1990s for redevelopment. The gables were purchased as part of a deal with the Connors family of travellers to vacate the site (which was then bulldozed) at that time. They were later offered back to the engineers of the Luas Line 2002/2003 but deemed out of keeping with the new bridge and platform of the stop despite the original access steps being retained. Ironically the new Cable Stay bridge in Dundrum is named after William Dargan as arguably the most important Irish Engineer of the 19th century.
Rough dimensions are 3.2 m high and 2.3 m wide

trinity stone exceeds customers’ expectations

We are always pleased to hear great reviews about our work, and this recent testimonial from our happy Galway clients illustrates how reclaimed stone can add timeless appeal to a project.

“We purchased reclaimed granite from Trinity Stone for the cladding of our new build. We found Michael of Trinity Stone very professional and a pleasure to work with. He recommended viewing the stone in its original setting of an old barn, outbuildings and piggeries. He arranged for a trail bag to be sent down which allowed our stonemason to test the quality of the stone and see how it was to work with. Michael negotiated preferential rates with haulage companies. The stone arrived on time and was of excellent quality. There were no issues in getting extra stone when we needed it. Overall we were very happy with the service and quality of stone, it exceeded our expectations. The fact the stonework has little bits of moss and had previously been worked it makes the house like it has been there for an age”.
